The explanation
Three placements do most of the heavy lifting in a first read: your Sun, your Moon, and your Rising sign. Traditionally, the Sun stands for your core self and what you're growing toward — the you that feels most like you. The Moon points to your inner emotional world: what soothes you, what you need to feel safe. The Rising, or Ascendant, is the style you tend to meet the world with, the first impression you give off. Astrologers lean on these three because together they sketch identity, feeling, and approach in one quick pass. Read them as themes to explore in your own life, not fixed labels — the rest of the chart fills in the nuance.
