Your name in numbers, with the table shown
Every letter has a value, we add them up, and you get the Expression and Soul-urge numbers. The whole table is on the page, so you can score any name yourself.
The table
Every letter, and what it scores
There's nothing hidden: each letter maps to a digit 1–9, and the number is just their sum reduced. Here are both alphabets we use.

For Russian names the result depends on the spelling — Cyrillic, or Latin as in a passport. They're different traditions, not a right and a wrong answer; try both.
In Latin names Y counts as a vowel only when it isn't next to another vowel (so “Lyn” has a vowel Y, “Yara” a consonant one). One fixed rule, so the number is repeatable.
Curious about the date, not the name?
The life-path number comes from a birth date and needs no spelling at all. It's the classic place to start.
FAQ
Questions people actually ask
Which name should I use?
Whichever one you go by. Some traditions insist on the full birth name; we don't take a side. The number changes with the spelling, so try the versions that matter to you and read them as different angles, not a right and a wrong answer.
What's the difference between Expression and Soul-urge?
Expression uses every letter of the name; Soul-urge uses only the vowels. A third number, Personality, uses the consonants. We show all three and the exact letters behind each.
How are the letters scored?
By the standard Pythagorean table: A–I are 1–9, then J–R repeat 1–9, then S–Z. The Cyrillic table follows the alphabet the same way. Both are printed on this page, so you can check the sum yourself.
