Why house systems disagree
Module progress · 0 of 6 lessons · about 1 minutes to read
THE THESIS
Astrologers divide the houses in several ways — Placidus, whole-sign, equal — so a planet can shift house between them. The astronomy stays fixed; the frame is a choice you get to set.
The explanation
Here is an honest wrinkle: astrologers do not all draw the house lines the same way. Placidus splits the houses by the time it takes points to rise; whole-sign gives each house one full sign; equal houses uses even thirty-degree slices. Because the methods cut the circle differently, a planet near a house edge can land in, say, the ninth in one system and the tenth in another. None of this touches the astronomy — the planet's real position is fixed and computed; only the house frame is a modelling choice. Sneba lets you pick the system, so you can see how the reading shifts. Treat it as a lens you get to set, not a single right answer handed down.

You are reading with the example chart
Every lesson has to point at a chart. Until you add your own, the lessons run on the example this site uses throughout: 24 June 1996, 14:20, Barcelona. They work exactly the same way; the person is just not you.

Two are about the idea, one is about your own chart. A wrong answer gets an explanation. You can skip the whole thing.
