North Node

Astrologers read the North Node — the true node here is one way of computing it — as a direction of growth rather than a placement you already inhabit. It isn't a planet at all, but a mathematical point where the Moon's path crosses the Sun's. Traditionally it names the less familiar territory the chart keeps pointing you toward: the qualities that don't come naturally yet, the ones you tend to grow into over time. Its opposite, the South Node, marks the comfortable, well-worn side you already know. Nothing here is fixed as fate. It simply offers a heading. Leaning toward that less familiar side on purpose is the whole of what this point asks, nothing more.
