Descendant

In the astrological tradition, the Descendant is the point setting on the western horizon as you were born, directly across from your Ascendant. Astrologers read it as the other — the traits you notice in people you draw close, and what you reach for in partnership. Often it holds qualities you don't yet claim as your own, met first in someone across the table. It describes a pattern in relating, not a fixed type of person waiting for you. Traditionally, what you keep hoping a partner will bring is read as a quality you may already be growing in yourself.
