Ascendant

In the astrological tradition, the Ascendant is the sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the moment you were born. Astrologers read it as your interface with the world — the way you show up before anyone knows you, and the lens through which you first meet each new room, person, and morning. It colours your instincts, your pace, your opening move. Others often meet this part of you first and mistake it for the whole. In the tradition, the face you lead with sometimes matches what's underneath and sometimes asks quietly for a little more room — often both, on different days.
